An Automatic Fingerprint Classification Algorithm
Manual fingerprint classification algorithms are very time consuming, and usually not accurate. Fast and accurate fingerprint classification is essential to each AFIS (Automatic Fingerprint Identification System). This paper investigates a fingerprint classification algorithm that reduces the complexity and costs associated with the fingerprint identification procedure. A new structural algorit...

متن کاملSOPHIE velocimetry of Kepler transit candidates⋆⋆⋆
We present the radial-velocity follow-up of two Kepler planetary transiting candidates (KOI-189 and KOI-686) carried out with the SOPHIE spectrograph at the Observatoire de Haute Provence. These data promptly discard these objects as viable planet candidates and show that the transiting objects are in the regime of very low-mass stars, where a strong discrepancy between observations and models ...

متن کاملEllipsoidal Variability in the OGLE Planetary Transit Candidates
We analyze the photometry of 121 OGLE stars with periodic transit events for the presence of ellipsoidal light variations, which indicate the presence of massive companions. We find that over 50% of objects may have stellar companions , mostly among the short period systems. In our Table 1 stars with no measurable ellipsoidal variability are marked as the prime candidates for planetary searches...
